Notably over the past several years we've seen a rising interest by bird enthusiasts throughout the country to breed the Spanish Discontinuous songbirds .
A few fanciers even went to great lengths as to import these unique birds from reputable known avian aficionados directly from Spain with the idea in mind to one day establish the Discontinuous songbird in America.
Unfortunately, the endeavor to produce songbirds of any given quality in the Discontinuous tradition proved to be a more difficult undertaking than their hopes imagined .
I don't believe in my opinion that American breeders were truly prepared (empirically speaking) for the challenges that lied ahead or had the proper insight - Nay the fortitude necessary to develop a sophisticated , complex canary songbird as the Spanish Discontinuous.
For all intent and purposes many seemed all too eager to breed , produce, and retail- losing sight entirely for the very purpose and reason its creation was meant for to begin with.
So after many confounded years of frustration, and lackadaisical approach on breeding a songbird that would be distinguishing to its name, its was clearly obvious that any further attempts would be construed as non -productive.
A case of futility in the grand scheme of things. In short, the lost of time and money.
Seldom few however still strive- continuing with their feeble attempts to produce a recognizable Discontinuous songbird that would meet expectation
, while many breeders overestimated their abilities, and accepted failure early in the game- throwing in the towel- giving up the art of raising true canary songbirds forever.
It wasn't until 2009 that our President, Robinson Grullon, through the guidance by some of the most dedicated breeders devoted to the songbirds Discontinuous from Spain, was able to raised the first Spanish Songbirds "Discontinuo" here in the US.
